Dear Student,
  1. Houses in Rajasthan have thick walls to protect against the extreme heat and harsh cold of the desert climate. They also have flat roofs in order to collect rainwater as rainfall is scanty in this part of the country.
  2. The houses in Tarai region and Goa and Mangalore have sloping roofs because:

The bulk of rainfall happens due to cyclones and depressions in this region.

  3. Houses in Assam are built on stilts because Assam receives abundant rainfall, due to which there is chance of floods. In case of floods, water might get into the houses if the houses are built on ground level so in order to avoid flooding of houses, the house is built on stilt as stilts are above the ground level, they prevent the houses from being flooded.
