water is known as the universal solvent because it can dissolve maximum things.
the process of sedimentation insoluble particles by making them heavier is called loading.
the insoluble solid which gets separated is called the residue.
the property of a substance which gets dissolved in something is called solubility.
the substance which gets dissolved is called solute.
the material which dissolves the solute is called solvent.
filtration is better than decantation because after decantation some insoluble particles may be left but after doing filtration we get clear water.
to separate sand ink and water:-
  • first do filtration
  • then boil the water and with the help of the condenser make it water again and collect it in a beaker
now we have the ink left with us
it happens because ink is not miscible to water
