If no light passes through the object, then it is an opaque object.      
If some light passes through an object, then it is a translucent object.    
If all the light passes through an object, then it is a transparent object.

If light is completely passing through an object,then it is called a transparent object.ex:air,water.
If light is partially passing through an object,then it is called a translucent object.ex:window,scale.
If light is not passing through an object,then it is called an opaque object.ex:pillow,pencil.
