Please answer questions with explanations.

Dear Student

A matal is reactive than the other metal if it can cause a displacement reaction with the salt solution of the other metal.
So from the table,
  • A is less reactive than Fe but more reactive than Cu.
  • B is more reactive than Fe but less reactive than Zn
  • C is the more reactive than Ag but less reactive than Fe, Cu and Zn.
  • D is less reactive than Fe, Cu, Zn and Ag.

So,
1) B is the most reactive metal
2) Since B is most reactive, it can cause a displacement reaction displace Cu from Copper sulfate
3) From the above info, order of reactivity is D<C<A<B
4) Now since D is the least reactive metal, it can be used to store all these solutions safely without reaction.

(a) b is the most reactive metal

(b) blue colour of copper sulphate solution disappears and reddish brown copper metal is deposited on the metal b.

(c) D, C, A, B

(d) D since it's the least reactive

From the given table we can write the following observations:
  • A is less reactive than Fe but more reactive than Cu.
  • B is more reactive than Fe but less reactive than Zn
  • C is the more reactive than Ag but less reactive than Fe, Cu and Zn.
  • D is less reactive than Fe, Cu< Zn and Ag.
Hence we can conclude that
(1) B is the most reactive metal.
(2)  B can displace CU as B is more reactive than Cu.
(3) B<A<C<D
(4)   A
