Please answer these questions (from chapter 'the trees' class 10)

Dear student,

a. The leaves and twigs strained themselves to help move the tree outside. The leaves tried hard to reach the window of glass so that they could go outside. Even the small stems of the trees put much of their effort in order to set themselves free.
b. The poet compares the branches to newly discharged patients whose limbs are stiff from inactivity. The movements of the branches too are stiff as they have been cramped in a confined space for long.
c. The leaves, branches and boughs are straining to move outside towards the forest.
d. An example of simile from the given lines is 'long cramped boughs .....like newly discharged patients'.
