From the figure we can see that , OA=OC=7 cm  radius of the circleAlso, AB=OC=OA=BC=7cmNow area of circle=πr2  , where r is the radius of the circle
=227×72=154 cm2Now, area of square OABC being all sides  =7 cm=side2=72=49 cm2Now area of sector OCEA=θ360°×πr2=90°360°×154   θ=90° as assuming OCEA is a quadrant  made by two radiuss at right angles connecting arc=772 cm2So, area of shaded region=area of square OABC- area of sector OCEA=49-772 cm2=10
