- Future's painted with a fog- the future of children is like fog - unclear
- from fog to endless night - the future of children is without any hope
- Let their tongues / run naked into books - refers to giving the opportunity to slum children to experience the variety of life as given in books. To experience the world outside slums
- Whose language is the sun - refers to children who live in happy and pleasant surroundings.
