Habitat destruction is the process by which natural habitat of species living there is destroyed. Habitat destruction is caused by human activities such as deforestation and increasing pollution etc.
The habitat destruction of the animal not only affects that species but it affects other animals and human as well. This is because:

  1. the destruction of particular species disturbs the food chain which in turn affects other animals which depend on that particular species for food.
  2. the destruction of trees, plants results in destruction of shelter, soil erosion, desertification, and nutrient depletion in that habitat. This results in natural disasters such as floods, droughts, water pollution and an outbreak of pests which affects human populations.
