Climate change and nature affecting the whole world. The world is threatening for the basic necessities of life- food, water, land. Our country India is already facing problems related to overpopulation, poverty etc and thereafter the problems like climate change is a burden on it. If we talk about Orissa, the1999 super cyclone that broke the economy of the State, and floods, droughts and heat waves being the repeatedly visiting to State, the State has become more vulnerable to climate change over the years. These issues have the potential to disturb the growth strategy and increased poverty in the State. Also, the beaches of Puri, Kendrapara and Ganjam are more vulnerable to sea erosion as there is 3.5 cms increase in sea level every year at east coast of India.
Government is working to protect Orissa's coastlines through embankment projects. It will also make lives safer in the state.
