Please experts brief solution with diagram

Dear Student,

Flowers are the reproductive parts of plants, which take part in the process of sexual reproduction. Reproduction in plants can be summarized in the following stages.

  1. The ovule or egg is fertilized by pollen through pollination. In the process of pollination, the transfer of pollen from the anther of one flower to stigma of the same flower, or another flower in the same plant, or another flower in a different plant takes place.
When the pollen grains fall on the stigma, the pollen tube enters one of the synergids and releases two male gametes. One of the male gametes moves towards the egg cell and fuses with it to complete the fertilization to form the zygote. The other male gamete fuses with the two polar nuclei and forms triploid primary endosperm nucleus (PEN). This is termed as double fertilisation and triple fusion.

  2. The ovules develop into seeds.

  3. These seeds germinate to give rise to new plants.

Fig. The image above depicts the entire process of Double fertilisation and triple fertilisation. In the above diagram the embryo sac is present inside the ovary.
