Please explain me the Lever System in human muscular and skeletal system. Kindly answer sir/mam.
There are three types of levers. These are as follows:
- First-class lever: Fulcrum lies between force and resistance. Joint (fulcrum) between the first vertebra and head (resistance) is an example of first-class lever.
- Second-class lever: Resistance lies in between the fulcrum and force. When a person standing on the tiptoes, his lower leg forms an example of second-class lever.
- Third-class lever: Force is applied in between the fulcrum and resistance. Elbow joint (fulcrum) is an example of third-class lever. Forearm, wrist and hand are the resistance. On flexing the elbow, the biceps muscles put force.
