The mean and median pertaining to a particular character of population for normal distribution is same.  

Normal distribution of population refers to the population in which most of the data points are relatively same to each other having short range of values. 
When the population data pertaining to certain character of normal distribution is plotted, we get bell-shaped and symmetrical graph. 

In otherworlds, the half of data falls on the left side and half on the right side of mean. Hence, in this case of data mean value (average) and median (centre point of data) are same.
