There are usually two types of transport in plants. They are as follows 1.)Active transport 2.)Passive transport
Active transport : It is the movement of water and menerals in the plant body against the force of gravity which means in the upward direction i.e. from roots to the leaves. It is the passage of substances from its lower to higher concentration through a living cell membrane using energy from the mitochondria of the cell. Ex: Movement of water from roots to leaves
Passive transport : It is the movent of the minerals and nutrients in the direction of force of gravity which is in the downward direction i.e. from leaves to roots. The movent does not require energy and is from the lower concentration area to higher concentration area. Ex: Movement of food from leaves to roots.
