As we know magnetic potential energy is given by ,
Um = â€‹−mB cos θ
and ​potential energy is minimum (= –mB) at θ = 0o (most stable position).In the configuration PQ6 ,direction of the magnetic field of P and dipole Qare pointing in the same direction.So angle between them is zero degree. Therefore potential energy for this configuration is minimum.
And for all other configuration potential energy is either zero or maximum ( Um = mB).
