Please explain this sum breifly and also the formula because I am not able solve this sum.

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

Given product of two numbers  =  324

First we make prime factors of 324 , As :

So,

324  =  2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3

And we know : H.C.F. stands for Highest common factor .

Now we form two numbers and their H.C.F. , As :

I ) 4 ( 2 × 2 )  and 81 ( 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 ) , So H.C.F. ( 4 and 81 ) =  1

II ) 2  and 162 ( 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 ) , So H.C.F. ( 2 and 162 ) =  2

III ) 12 ( 2 × 2 × 3 )  and 27 ( 3 × 3 × 3 ) , So H.C.F. ( 12 and 27 ) =  3

IV ) 36 ( 2 × 2 ×× 3 )  and 9 ( 3 × 3 ) , So H.C.F. ( 36 and 9 ) =  3 × 3 = 9

V ) 108 ( 2 × 2 ××× 3 )  and  3 , So H.C.F. ( 108 and 3 ) =  3

Here, we can see that only HCF = 9 ( That we calculate in IV )  is matches with one of the given option .

Therefore,

Option ( B )                                                             ( Ans )
