I think the answer given may be wrong as glycogen stored in the liver is released during stressful conditions like low blood sugar. But this can be reasonated like in these situations, when the body feels extra glucose is needed in the blood, the pancreas will release glucagon which triggers the conversion of glycogen to glucose for release into the bloodflow. So ultimately glucose is the one which normalises the blood sugar in emmergency conditions.
