Science and technology has made enormous progress and has changed the life style of human beings considerably. Our ancestors lived a life very similar to that of animals. They were hunters and gatherers, depended on nature for food, used leaves as clothes. From small discoveries and inventions of simple tools, learning to farm, weaving cloth and learing to write and communicate with each other to the modern day industrial revolution and agricultural techniques, effective ways for travel and communication, eradication and control of deadly diseases has completely changed our lives, raised our living standards and life expectancy. However, it has also brought about adverse changes in climate, exposure to harmful chemicals, pollution and new diseases. Scientific thought and analytical ability has imparted humans with the ability to understand these adverse effects and continue to strive to find new and better technology to improve living standards.
