When particle is thrown vertically upward then 
At time t = 0, u  = 40 m/s
as g = 10 m/s  (in upward direction)
and at maximum height v = 0
So
$$\begin{gathered} time at which particle reach at maximum height \\ v = u -gt \\ 0 = 40 - 10 t \\ t = 4s \\ Then object starts falling back to ground, it takes same time to reach back to frpund that is \\ at t = 8 s it will reach back to ground. \\ It velocity increases at rate of 10 m/s \\ So at t = 4 s , u =0 \\ t = 5s, v = -10 m/s \\ t = 6 s , v = -20m/s \\ t = 7s , v = -30m/s \\ t = 8s, v = - 40m/s \end{gathered}$$
So graph can be drawn from this data as below
