One could hear nothing but the croaking of frogs and the patter of raindrops for days on end. The village roads were too flooded to walk on and one had to take small boats to go to the weekly market.

The words that describe the rainy season in this paragraph are relentlessly, overflowed, ponds, croaking, frogs, patter, flooded etc. Some other words that could have been used are showery, drizzly, wet, unsettled, stormy, cold, cloudy etc.
