A) i) The relationship is linear on logarithmic scale ''b'' which is represented by the following equation:-
Log S = Log C + Z log A
where, S = species richness, A = area, C = intercept on Y axis, Z = slope of the line
The equation for graph ''a'' is S = CAz
ii) The value of Z represents slope whose value lies between 0.1 to 0.2
iii) The slope for frugivorous birds and mammals in tropical forest is 1.15
B) The greater diversity of animals as compared to plants can be stated due to the adaptability of animals in changing environments as compared to plants because animals have developed complex nervous system to control their body structure. They could survive in different habitat as compared to plants because they have evolved their body structure and organs according to the needs of the changing environment.
