Your friend often insists that you do your homework together but frequently copies your homework instead of contributing ideas. With your partner, discuss :
. How you could make your friend understand your discomfort ?
. How you feel your friend would react ?
Such questions are meant to test your writing skills and should be attempted on your own. However, these points might help you elaborate:
- It is unfortunate that the friend just copies your work.
- You must speak with him and explain to him that home work is given to revise what is done in class.
- The idea is to apply what one has learnt in class and then solve some questions.
- If he merely copies the work in the guise of doing the work together, he will not learn anything.
- He may feel he is being 'smart', when in reality this is a foolish act.
- He will harm his own learning and eventual grades.
- If you both did the work together, with equal effort from both of you, the benefit will be doubled.
- Your friend will surely be able to see the reason and logic of your suggestion!
