States of matter are the distinct forms in which matter exists. These states of matter arise due to the variation in the characteristics of the particles of matter.
basically, there are 4 states of matter : solid, liquid, gas, and plasma.
Inter conversion of three states of matter in case of burning of candle-
Due to heating by flame the solid wax liquifies. (solid to liquid)
The liquid wax reaches the top of wick and undergoes chemical change then changes to vapours (liquid to gas).
The excess of liquefied wax which is not near the flame falls down the candle and solidified again. (liquid to solid)

Evaporation is the surface change of liquids to gases under the boiling point
The rate of evaporation depends on Increase in surface area , Decrease in humidity , Increase in wind speed
,increase in temperature etc
