1) Malala had to face hardships when the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley. They stopped people from playing music and watching television. The Taliban banned many things including education for girls.
2) In January 2009, the Pakistan Taliban group issued orders that no girl should go to school or receive education. Malala wrote about these atrocities in her online diary after which she started getting many death threats from the Taliban.
3) One day when she was returning home from school, the gunmen halted the van in which she was travelling. She was shot from a point blank range hitting her in the head and neck.
