Q1. Study the diagram 8.47 carefully and calculate :
(a) the equivalent resistance between P and Q.
(b) the reading shown by ammeter,
(c) the electrical power between P and Q.

(i). As we can see from figure given in the question, the two resistors of resistances 3 ohm and 6 ohm are connected in parallel. Let there equivalent resistance be R.
(ii). The reading of ammeter or current in the circuit, I = V/R
= 2/2
=1 A.
(iii). Power between P and Q,
P = VI
= 2 x 1
= 2 W.
