a) Cells are the basic structural and functional unit of life. They are also known as building blocks of life.
b) Cell organelles- A group of tissues that perform a specific function or group of functions is called organ. Small organs present within cell are called cell organelles like mitochondria, chloroplast etc.
c) Cytoplasm is the gel-like substance found in the cell. All the cellular organelles are embedded in the cytoplasm.
d) The cytoplasm along with the cellular organelles is called protoplasm i.e., protoplasm = Cytoplasm + organelles or Protoplasm - Organelles = cytoplasm.
e) Nucleus - Is a dense protoplasmic body that contains hereditary information for controlling cell activity.  It is the largest cell structure, oval, lies in median.
