Dear Student,
Since it is given to be a rhombus and as we know that the sides of the rhombus are congruent,
i.e side AD= side AB
3x+2=4x-4, i.e x=6
Thus the value of the side of the rhombus is 20 units.
Since side AD= side AB
Therefore, angle ADB= angle ABD (Isosceles Triangle Theorem)
Now, angle BAD is given to be 60. On further solving, both angles ADB and ABD are also 60.
Thus it is an equilateral triangle and therefore the length of side BD is also 20, i.e y-1=20, i.e y=21
Thus, x=6 and y=21 is the required solution.
