Please solve question no 8 and 9

The following is solution to Q8.
Angle C of right angled triangle ABC is the right angle.
Hence, side AB is the hypotenuse.
As per Pythagoras Theorem,
$$\begin{gathered} A{B}^2=A{C}^2+C{B}^2 \\ AB=13 cm and AC=5cm \\ Thus, \\ {13}^2=5^2+C{B}^2 \\ i.e C{B}^2=169-25=144 \\ i.e CB=12 cm (Taking positive square root \sin ce length cannot be negative) \end{gathered}$$
