Dear student,

When magnesium nitride reacts with warm water it produces magnesium hydroxide in solid form with the evolution of ammonia gas .
The following reaction is as follows:
$M{g}_3{N}_2\left(s\right) + 6H_{2}O \left(l\right) \to 3Mg\left(OH{)}_2\right(s) + 2N{H}_3(g)$
