Dear student,
The allele frequency in a population is stable and constant from generation to generation.
(i) The underlying principle is known as Hardy Weinberg principle.
(ii)The value of the sum total of all the allelic frequency in a population is 1.
p+q=1
Where, p= frequency of dominant allele in population.
q= frequency of recessive allele in population
(iii)If this principle is disrupted then mutation, natural selection and random mating phenomenon will occur in nature. It will also be followed by genetic drift and gene flow which will overall affect the equilibrium of the frequencies of the allele.
