a. when connected to X, bul does not glow, that means the circuit is not complete. So the X is insulator.
when connected to Y, the bulb started glowing, that means the circuit is now closed. so Y is conductor.
b.
X-insulator- Plastic.
Y-conductor-Aqueous solutions of salts (i.e., ionic compounds dissolved in water)
c.
The outer case of electric plug is made up of plastic, that is an insulator.
and teh pins of the electric plug is made up of metal, which is a conductor.
