Please solve this sooon 17. A semi circular current loop is placed in an uniform magnetic field of tesla as shown. u the radius of loop is 1m, the magnetic force the loop is 3) 8/TtN 4) zero x X co 21 x x x R 2A x

Dear Student,

Net magnetic force on a a current carrying loop placed in a uniform magnetic field is always zero if one current is circulating in the loop, because the forces on the parts of the loop cancel each other out
But looking on closely both the wires of the loop have current in the same direction therefore magnetic force will be in the same direction so here is the solution.

​​​​​​Force on straight wire  F1 = IBL1 SIn(900) =  (L1 is the Diameter= 2m)
                                       F= 4 N
Force on the semicircular wire F2 = IBL2 SIn(900) =  (L2 is the the "projected length" which is equal to the diameter= 2m)
                                       F= 4 N
So ;   Net force              Fnet = F1 + F2 = 8N
Therefore the ans is option (2).
