please tell all the poetic devices in the poem my mother at sixty six

Dear student,

The poetess has used the following poetic devices in the mentioned poem:

- Simile – a) her face ashen like that of a corpse

b) as a late winter’s moon

- Personification - trees sprinting

- Metaphor – merry children spilling out of their homes

- Repetition- all I did was smile and smile and smile

- Paradox: the knowledge that the poet may not see her mother again as she is steadily inching towards her death, yet the poet has to bid her goodbye with a smile.

Regards
