Please tell some examples on imbibition.

Dear Student, Imbibition is the process of adsorption of water. Some examples of imbibition are:- 1. Germination of a seedling is via adsorption of water. 2. Wooden doors are jammed during rainy season. This is also due to imbibition. 3. In old times, Splitting of rocks using a wooden stack was done. This was also via Imbibition. In this process, a wood is put in a small crack of rock and then water is poured. The wood adsorbs water and rock can be split. Regards
