8. Density of solid A = 2.5 g/cm3
Density of solid B = 0.80 g/cm3
Density of liquid L = 1.2 g/cm3
We know that a substance will float or sink in the given liquid is depend upon the density of that substance and the density of given liquid.
If the density of substance is greater than that of liquid then the substance will sink. And if the density if substance is lower than that of liquid then the substance will float.
Here, the density of solid B is lower than the density of liquid i.e. 0.80 < 1.2. So, solid B will float on liquid.
