Dear student,

The EM waves carry energy and momentum owing to its wave-particle duality. Due to change in this momentum, EM waves, exert a pressure on the surface, by reflection and refraction. This pressure is termed as Radiation Pressure. 
Also EM waves can propagate easily through vacuum.
These two properties of EM waves helped Professor C.V. Raman to surprise the students by suspending a light ball in a transparent vacuum chamber by shining a laser beam on it.

These properties of EM waves can be useful in explaining a plethora of observed astronomical phenomena. One such example of the property can be observed in the formation of displaced dust tail in a comet. The dust tail being neutral in charge gets affected by radiation pressure of EM waves emitted from the Sun.
