The formula for Mass defect is given below,
Δm = [Zmp + (A − Z) mn − mN]
here,
In a nucleus
Z = Number of protons
A = Number of protons + Number of neutrons
Let mp = Mass of a proton
mn = Mass of a neutron
mN = Mass of nucleus

One amu is defined as 1/12th of the mass of an atom of isotope.
Avogadro’s number = 6.023 × 1023
∴ Mass of 6.023 × 1023 atoms of C12 = 12 g
So , by using this formula we can convert mass of proton (in Kg ) to amu.
