plot three points A, B and C which have same abscissa 4 but lie in 1 and 4 quadrants and on x-axis respectively .Also, plot mirror image of A in y-axis.

Answer :  We know

Abscissa : The horizontal ( " x " ) value in a pair of coordinates ( x , y ) . How far along the point is from y - axis .

And given  : Three A ,B and C points , As abscissa 4 but lie in 1 and 4 quadrant and  on x axis respectively .

So,  we can write A ( 4 , 3 )  ( That comes in first quadrant ) ( As we know in first quadrant ( + , + )

B (  4 ,  - 5 )  ( That comes on fourth quadrant )  (  As we know in fourth quadrant ( + , - )

And

C (  4  , 0 )  ( That lie on x - axis )( As we know when a point on x axis its ordinate value is zero . )

And  we know mirror image of a point in y -  axis change  ( x , y )  to  ( - x  , y  )

So, Mirror image of A in y axis gives coordinate  A' ( - 4 , 3 )  , We plot these points As  :
