8 ) Given : Stamps of size 2 cm $\times$1.5 cm  , 

We know :  Area of rectangle  = Length $\times$ Breadth , So

Area of a stamp =  2 $\times$ 1.5 =  3 cm²

And sheet of paper of size 6 cm $\times$ 12 cm , So

Area of sheet of paper = 6  $\times$ 12  =  72  cm²

Therefore,

Total number of stamps can be posted on given sheet of paper  = $\frac{\mathrm{Area} \mathrm{of} \mathrm{sheet} \mathrm{of} \mathrm{paper}}{\mathrm{Area} \mathrm{of} \mathrm{a} \mathrm{stamp}} = \frac{72}{3}$ = 24                      ( Ans )
9 ) Given : A rectangle is 2 m along and 16 m broad

We know :  Area of rectangle  = Length $\times$ Breadth , So

Area of a given rectangle =  2 $\times$ 16 =  32 m²

Also given : We have a square whose area is equal to the area of this rectangle .

We know :  Area of a square = ( Side )² , So  from above condition we get :

( Side )²  = 32 ,

Side = $\sqrt{32} = \sqrt{2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2}= 2 \times 2 \times \sqrt{2}=\mathbf{ }\mathbf{4}\sqrt{\mathbf{2}}\mathbf{ }\mathbf{m}\mathbf{ }\mathbf{ }\mathbf{ }\mathbf{ }\mathbf{ }\mathbf{(}\mathbf{ }\mathbf{Ans}\mathbf{ }\mathbf{)}$
