13.Dear student. The chemical bond formed by the sharing of electrons between two atoms is known as a covalent bond. The sharing of electrons take place because each atom in the resulting molecule wants to get stable inert gas configuration (octet rule) but it is not possible through transfer of electrons in that particular compound so the atoms tends to share electrons to complete their octet. Thus carbon forms covalent bonds, because it has 4 electrons in its valence shell. Thus option (a) is correct. Please post the remaining queries in separate threads. Regards
