Yes, I do agree with above statement that the use of chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides are extremely beneficial at one hand but they lead to degradation of soil and environment at same time. 
(i) Though chemical fertilizers and pesticides have important role in crop production and  used in agriculture to enhance crop yield but the increased use has led to threat to environment and fertility of soil.
(ii) Due to excessive use of chemicals fertilizers and pesticides, fertility and quality of soil us degrading day by day. It has led to soil pollution along with water pollution.
(iii) Chemicals fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides seep inside the soil when crops are watered which pollute ground water.This polluted water is detrimental for health of people.
(iv) The process of eutrophication deteriorates the water quality of rivers and lakes leading to death of fishes.
(v) The excessive use of nitrogenous fertilizers also decreases the potassium content of the food grains thus degrading the nutrient value of food grains.
