Dear Student

In defining relative clauses, there is information provided about
the person or thing we are talking about
Example - Child that play well are very sharp

In non-defining relative clauses, we get more information about the
person or thing we are talking about It is possible to give an idea
about the subject without including this information
Example - My brother, who is a year old , is very
naughty (The age of the brother is not very important here but the
main idea is that he is naughty)
