The given system of equations is

$\frac{a}{x} - \frac{b}{y} = 0 ... (1) \frac{a b^{2}}{x} + \frac{a^{2} b}{y} = a^{2} + b^{2} ... (2)$

Multiplying (1) by a ², we get

$\frac{a^{3}}{x} - \frac{a^{2} b}{y} = 0 ... (3)$

Solving (2) and (3), we get

$∴ \frac{a (a^{2} + b^{2})}{x} = a^{2} + b^{2} \Rightarrow x = a$

When x = a, we get

$\frac{a}{a} - \frac{b}{y} = 0 [Using (1)] ∴ 1 - \frac{b}{y} = 0 \Rightarrow \frac{b}{y} = 1 \Rightarrow y = b$

Thus, the solution of given system of equations is x = a and y = b.
