Pls tell the answer!!! This is the third time I am asking!!!!

There was a question:?

A body moves upward with a velocity of 50m/s.?
(i) How high will the particle rise.(what does particle mean here?????)

Dear Student

Particle refers to body only.

We have,

Initial velocity, u = 50 m/s

Acceleration due to gravity, g = -10 m/s2

At the maximum height the velocity is zero.

Using, v2 = u2 + 2as

=> 0 = 502 – (2)(10)s

=> s = 125 m

This is the maximum height reached.

particle just means the body which is moving upwards

Particle refers to body only.

use netwon's equations of motion

v^2-u^2=2as

at highest point v=0

u is given

a= -g =-10 (as it is acting against the body movement)

let max height be h

substituting,

0-(50)^2=2*(-10)*h

solving,

h=25 metres

Here, particle means a very small body but in case of distance speed or any kind of motion size does not matter so, here, assume the particle just as a body...
