Answe 1.Primitive subsistence farming-This type of agriculture is self-sufficient and farmers only grow food for themselves and their families.It is aslo known as shifting cultivation and slash-and-burn agriculture. This is the oldest one.
Ans. 2 Intensive subsistence farming-This farming is often associated with large plantations.There are two types of the intensive subsistence agriculture. One is dominated by wet paddy and the other is dominated by crops other than paddy, e.g., wheat, pulses, maize, millets, sorghum, kaoling, soya-beans, tubers and vegetables.
Ans.3 Commercial farming -Commercial farming is a type of farming under which farmers grow crops to sell in the market.In commercial farming crops such as wheat, maize, tea, coffee, sugarcane, cashew, rubber, banana, cotton are harvested and sold in the world markets.
Ans. 4 Plantation agriculture- Plantation agriculture is a type of commercial farming in which a single crop is grown for the entire year. This type of farming requires large amount of labour and capital.Crops are mainly grown for the market. All produce are used as raw material in industries such as tea, coffee, rubber, sugarcane, banana, etc.
