plx solve it urgently

plx solve it urgently btate two Important characteristic features of Indian Monsoons. Give reasons: (21 a) Mangaluru is cooler than Delhi in summer season. b). Kochi receives more rainfall than Chennai. 111 c). Central Maharashtra receives scanty rainfall. (11 udy the climate data of station X given below ant answer the questions that follow. 13)

CENTRAL MAHARASHTRA RECEIVES SCANTY RAINFALL BECAUSE THERE IS LESS HUMIDITY THAN THE COASTAL AREAS SO LESS CHANCES OF RAIN ARE THERE

  1. Mangaluru is located near the sea coast, whereas, Delhi is in the centre of Indian sub-continent, i.e. far from sea coast. Delhi experiences continental climate, i.e. hot in summer and cold in winter. This area has intense climate but Mangaluru experiences Maritime climate, that causes an average temperature in both summers and winters due to regular Flow of air and water currents hitting the costal area. As onbe goes away from coastal area, the the temperature intensifies.
  2. Chennai, though having more monsoon months than Kochi, recieves less rainfall than Kochi as Chennai mostly gets rain from the North-Eastern monsoon branch i.e. retarding monsoon. It comes from land to sea, thus it carries few moisture with it as compared with the South-Western Monsoon winds, that causes rain in Kochi. Hence Chennai receives less rainfall than Kochi.
  3. Central Maharashtra recieves scanty of rainfall as it is located on the leeward side of the western ghats(i.e. side facing the inner region of the sub-continent). Thus, the moisture content decreases with the movement of monsoon winds from Arabian sea while it reaches the Central Maharashtra. Whereas, Mumbai (on windward side i.e. towards sea) recieves plenty of rainfall as the moisture content is high enough in the monsoon winds.

Hope this would help you!!!
