Dear student,

a. The CaCl2  is a hygroscopic compound which absorbs water and moisture without changing its state. Therefore, it is used to absorb water.
b. As the CaCl2 absorbs the water and moisture, there will be an increase in its weight.
c. The manometer is used to measure the pressure to detect the unequal transpiration between two surfaces.
d. The transpiration is the loss of water from the aerial parts of the plant such as leaves in the form of water vapour.
