1. Why are some food items stored in cold stores while others are stored in normal places?

Some food items are stored in cold stores because low temperature slows the rate of chemical reaction which slows the growth of micro-organisms and hence the food stays fresh for long period of time.For example- milk ,tomato etc Where-as, some food items do not need low temperature to stay fresh that's why the are kept at normal place.For example- potato, honey etc.
