Dear student,
1. When sodium is dropped in water, following reaction occurs:
2 Na (s) + 2 H 2 O(l) → 2 NaOH(aq) + H 2 (g)
2. Magnesium reacting with boiling water:
Mg(s) + 2 H 2 O(l) → Mg(OH) 2 (aq) + H 2 (g)
3. Iron reacting with steam:
3 Fe(s) + 4 H 2 O (g) → Fe 3 O 4 (s) + 4 H 2 (g)
4. Iron reacts with HCl:
Fe(s) + 2 HCl(aq) → FeCl 2 (aq) + H 2 (g)
Regards
