plz give in a tabular form, the different parts of brain and their function

The brain is a part of the central nervous system which helps us to think and coordinates various functions of our body. Brain consists of three parts :

1) Fore-brain: Fore brain further consists of

  • Cerebrum : The cerebrum constitutes the major potion of fore brain and is responsible for thought and action of the body.
  • Hypothalamus : Hypothalamus controls the pituitary gland and is responsible for the realization of thirst and hunger.
  • Thalamus : Thalamus regulates the consciousness and sleep of the individual.

2) Mid-brain
Mid brain consists of tectum and tegmentum. They control the auditory and visual system of the individual. The movement of eye is also controlled by midbrain.

3) Hind-brain : Hind brain consists of

  • Cerebellum : Cerebellum coordinates the movement, posture and balance of the individual
  • Pons : Pons regulates the arousal and sleep of the individual and also helps in passing the sensory information between cerebrum and cerebellum.
  • Medulla: Medulla controls the salivation and vomiting.

Human brain can be divided into three parts – Fore brain, mid brain and hind brain.
Fore brain – It is the main thinking part of the brain. Areas are separated in fore brains which are responsible for hearing, smell, sight, hunger etc. Fore brain controls the movement of voluntary muscles like leg muscles of our body.
Mid brain  – Mid brain has large number of nerve cells scattered which are involved in controlling voluntary muscle activities. Some amount of visual and auditory actions are controlled from this area.
Hind brain -Most of the involuntary actions like blood pressure, heart beat, moving of eye ball, vomiting, salivation etc are controlled by the hind brain.  It maintain the posture and balance when we bend or move.
