The tropic movements are directional movements.
For example, the growth of root towards water is a directional movement called as hydrotropism.
The nastic movements are non-directional movements. The movement of the organism in response to a stimulus is not in particular direction.
For example, the closing of the leaves of the seisomasty plant called as mimosa pudica or Touch Me Not plant is a non-directional process.
